The “Cheonghak Minari Sales Event” is attracting visitors to Hadong-gun, drawn by the fresh aroma of locally grown minari.
The event runs from February 28 to March 22 in Namsan-ri, Hoengcheon-myeon, a pristine area near Jirisan Mountain known as a major minari-growing region. First launched in 2017 to promote Hadong minari and boost local consumption, the event marks its seventh edition this year.
Cheonghak minari is grown with clear water flowing from Jirisan Mountain in the region’s clean natural environment. Known for its crisp texture and refreshing aroma, it has become a popular seasonal ingredient enjoyed by many food lovers.
At the event site, visitors can purchase Cheonghak minari at reasonable prices and also find a variety of Hadong’s local specialties, including strawberries, gorosoe sap, honey, and dried namul.
Visitors can also enjoy a unique food experience by purchasing fresh minari and pork belly on-site and grilling them together on a hot plate, a popular combination known in Korea as “minari samgyeopsal.”
