Daegu City will continue its multidisciplinary cultural program “Museum Live” at Daegu Arts Center, allowing audiences to enjoy exhibitions and performances in a single venue. Now in its third year, the program has become one of the center’s signature offerings, held on the first Saturday of every month and drawing more than 100 participants per session.
The first event of the year will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, at Jungjeong Hall on the first floor of Daegu Arts Center. The Daegu City Choir will kick off the 2025 season, and the performance can be enjoyed alongside the special exhibition Donated Works Special Exhibition: Connection.
“Museum Live” was created for citizens who find it difficult to visit exhibition halls and concert venues separately amid their busy daily lives. By presenting visual art and live performance together in one setting, the program offers a more accessible and immersive cultural experience. Over the past three years, it has steadily established itself as part of Daegu’s weekend cultural routine.
Established in 1981, the Daegu City Choir has grown into one of the region’s leading professional arts ensembles. The choir presents a wide range of repertoire, from classical choral masterpieces to Korean folk songs and art songs, while continuing to expand and promote Korean choral repertoire. The upcoming performance will focus on themes of communication and harmony, offering audiences a meaningful and resonant experience.
The accompanying exhibition, Donated Works Special Exhibition: Connection, highlights how artworks that once held personal memories become public cultural assets through donation. The exhibition reflects on the idea of “connection,” linking artworks and people, individuals and society, and demonstrating how donation serves not only to preserve the past but also to connect it to the present and future.
From April through December, additional performances will feature the Daegu City Children’s Choir, Daegu City Symphony Orchestra, Daegu City Dance Company, Daegu City Traditional Music Orchestra, and other local arts groups. The program will present a variety of genres including choral music, vocal performance, theater, classical music, dance, and traditional Korean music.
