Namdong-gu Completes Korea’s Longest Accessible Forest Trail on Mansusan Mountain

Namdong-gu in Incheon has completed what is now Korea’s longest accessible forest trail on Mansusan Mountain, creating a walking route designed for safe and comfortable public use.

According to the district office, a commemorative walking event was held on February 25 to mark the completion of the Dorongnyong Village Trail, with about 100 local residents taking part.

Participants walked for approximately two hours along the forest path to reach the observatory at the summit of Mansusan. The stair-free route offers a smooth and continuous walking experience while allowing visitors to fully enjoy the natural surroundings.

The Dorongnyong Village Trail was extended by about 2.3 kilometers from the existing 2.75-kilometer section, bringing the total length to 5.14 kilometers. With the extension, it has become the longest accessible forest trail in Korea.

The project was designed to provide safe and convenient access to the mountain’s upper areas. Scenic rest stops were installed while minimizing environmental impact, and facilities such as LED lighting for nighttime use and safety railings were significantly upgraded.

The trail recently received the top national award in the Trail category of the 2025 Green Infrastructure Expansion Program.
