Jinju announced that the “Jinju Outdoor Ice Rink,” which opened in Chojeon-dong on December 20 last year, continues to attract large crowds from residents and visitors throughout the winter season. The venue has established itself as a popular winter leisure space in the city, drawing many families seeking seasonal outdoor activities.
As of the 25th of this month, approximately 30,000 people have visited the ice rink and sledding area. This represents an increase of about 1,700 visitors compared with the same period last year, and total attendance is projected to reach around 50,000 by the closing date.
The seasonal outdoor ice rink features three main facilities: an ice skating rink, a sledding area, and an ice tube slide, allowing visitors to enjoy a range of winter sports. A roof has been installed over the entire ice surface, helping maintain stable ice conditions even during Jinju’s relatively mild winter temperatures.
Facility upgrades were introduced this season, including an expanded ice tube slide area and the addition of food trucks. These improvements aim to reinforce the rink’s position as a leading outdoor winter sports venue in the city.
The outdoor ice rink will operate until February 22. Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with extended hours until 8 p.m. on weekends. Reservations can be made through the Jinju Integrated Reservation System, and same-day on-site entry is also available.
