Wonju to Host 2nd National Band Festival

The 2nd Wonju National Band Festival will be held from February 28 to March 1 at Baekun Art Hall.

A total of 252 teams applied during the three-week preliminary application period, demonstrating strong nationwide interest. Bands from across the country took part in the selection process, highlighting the festival’s growing reputation. The list of finalist teams is available on the G1 Broadcasting website.

The preliminary round featuring 20 selected teams will begin at 3 p.m. on February 28. After evaluation by a panel of professional judges, 10 teams will advance to the final round, which will take place at 3 p.m. on March 1. Seven teams will ultimately be selected for awards.

Following the final competition, an awards ceremony will be held, followed by special performances by Crying Nut and Cherry Filter, along with last year’s grand prize winner Haevichi Band.

Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Free admission tickets will be distributed at the Baekun Art Hall lobby starting at 11 a.m. on March 1, with a limit of two tickets per person.

Wonju City said it hopes the festival will bring bands and audiences together and further strengthen the city’s reputation as a vibrant music destination filled with youthful energy and passion.
