Early blossoms appear ahead of Daehan, drawing quiet interest from walkers and photographers.
Gwangyang City said that plum blossoms have begun blooming in Sohakjeong Village ahead of Daehan, the coldest period in the traditional seasonal calendar. Several trees have already started to flower, marking the earliest bloom seen in the country this season.
Sohakjeong Village is known for seeing plum blossoms appear earlier than in other regions each year. A similar pattern is being observed again this year, with early blooms spreading across parts of the village.
As word of the early bloom spreads, more visitors have been stopping by for walks and photography. Soft white blossoms and tightly closed buds stand out against the winter scenery, offering a subtle hint of the changing season.
Since the flowers are still in an early stage, it will take more time for full bloom, and the pace of flowering may vary depending on temperature and sunlight. Visitors are viewing the blossoms carefully as they move through the area.
Gwangyang City is continuing to monitor on-site conditions and provide basic guidance so visitors can enjoy the area safely and comfortably.
